#Evga precision x fan curve not working on second card softwareThe software overall is great, except the Curve setup, although I still rather use it than anything related to MSI. Pressing "X" will close it all up, sometimes messing up the custom settings. You also need to run X1 in the background all the time, if you tinker with the software, make sure to hit the "_" on the top right instead of "X", that way it gets minimized and just runs in the background. Easiest setup is select "Stealth", then move the lowest point to 30C and 14-15%, then check the Fan Curve Control box, and hit apply. It's also better to run the fans on a 14-15% bottom to prevent the annoyance of them turning on and off. Leaving fans on Auto is not the best solution, since if you have bad airflow and/or left your preset on "prefer maximum", your GPU on idle/desktop use will still consume over 30-40 watts, and heatsoak will be present. I doubt you will ruin the card, worst that is likely to happen is a blue screen or 2.When you set up a custom curve, you need to do it with your mouse one by one in the default section, NOT in the VF Curve tab, then when you're done, press apply, select a preset number on the right, and press save. I would only use one piece of software for setting up the card, as this is likely to result in the least issues.Īlthough if you are just setting up a fan curve, in evga, then it might be fine, jsut try it. I would say, have them both installed, overclock with evga precision, and use afterburner for monitoring. Would be rather interested to know if this works, as I just ordered an EVGA card. #Evga precision x fan curve not working on second card windowsSimply press Windows logo key + G to open Game Bar over your game, application or even desktop. #Evga precision x fan curve not working on second card windows 10In the end, I uninstalled the gigabyte one, as I was afraid of breaking something, and afterburner had more functionality. This widget for the Xbox Game Bar on Windows 10 devices gives you instant access to monitoring your EVGA graphics card, built right into the Game Bar. I ran them together for a bit, they didn't sync up. I was in somewhat the same position a while ago with gigabyte extreme engine vs afterburner. No other GPU related software is running. ![]() In case it's important, I'm running Windows 10 64-bit and I'm also running Nvidia Inspector's Multi Display Power Saving software in the background, which also may or may not be relevant. My solution to this is to use MSI Afterburner alongside EVGA Precision X, but is it safe? Would resetting everything to default on Precision X, then re-dialing in the OC values in Afterburner work? The fans should immediately spin up and stay on. Set the rest of the curve to your liking. 'We're all in this together, might as well be friends' Tom, Toonami. That might be because I have PrecisionX installed too, which of course can set the fan curve. Set your second lowest point to 15 and whatever temp you want the fans to spin up faster. With an EVGA card, I can't set a fan curve in Afterburner. I've also learnt that the G(PU) P(ower) M(emory) lights will also not work with MSI afterburner, but I couldn't care less about these. Set your lowest point to 0C and 15 (I had to go 17 for the fans to continuously spin at low RPMs). What annoys me is how the Precision X operates, the UI (personally) is horrible compared to MSI Afterburner, things are buried so deep inside the settings menu and if you have HW Monitoring opened, playing games would lead to severe keyboard lag and delay when actuating keys, so I want back in on MSI's Afterburner software.īut I have heard if you use Afterburner instead of Precision X, you can only control the GPU fan, and not the second fan, so the second fan won't even spin. This can be done through EVGAs Precision X1 software. This software allows you to fine tune your NVIDIA graphics card, maximizing cooling and performance./ Release Notes evga-precision-x1 Package parameters None Files Virus Scan Results Version History. ![]() #Evga precision x fan curve not working on second card upgradeRecently upgrade to a GTX 1080Ti SC2 by EVGA, and from research I have learned that in order to utlisie the asynchronous fan control technology I had to use their EVGA Precision X OC software, which is fair enough. Description The next generation of EVGA Precision has arrived with EVGA Precision X1. ![]()
